The technique is a simple, step-by-step method of applying therapeutic grade essential oils, to produce a profound whole-body wellness experience. There many benefits of this technique including; reducing stress and inflammation, supporting the immune system and balancing the autonomic nervous system
Step One: Stress Management - For Balance & Calm
The technique begins with Balance essential oil blend, centring and grounding blend of spruce, frankincense, blue tansy and rosewood. This blend helps you to focus and think more clearly. Balance is followed by Lavender used to support relaxation, calming and de-stressing. It is a mood modulator and reduces cortisol.
Step Two: Immune Support - to Cleanse & Strengthen
Melaleuca essential oil, more commonly known as tea tree oil is applied to cleanse and detoxify followed by an application of On Guard Protective blend of wild orange, cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary and clove essential oils. This blend stimulates and supports the body's own external and internal defensive immune functions and effectively manages bacteria, viruses and moulds.
Step Three: Inflammatory Response - to Soothe and Stimulate
Step three begins with application of Aroma Touch Massage Blend of cypress, grapefruit, basil, peppermint, marjoram and lavender which invigorates you, improves circulation and soothes tissues. This is followed by the application of Deep Blue Soothing Blend of wintergreen, helichrysum, peppermint, blue tansy, German chamomile, camphor, and osmanthus which helps to support a healthy inflammatory response in the body and is good for pain management.
Step Four: Homeostasis - to Centre & Invigorate
The final application of oils includes the use of pure Wild Orange and Peppermint essential oils. These refresh and revitalise you also centring the body, mind, and spirit. Wild Orange balances you physically and emotionally. It elevates mood, reduces stress, increases antioxidant levels and supports immune defense. Peppermint stimulates the nerves, inhibits muscle spasms and provides mental clarity. The use of Wild Orange and Peppermint together is an amazing combination, and really gives your senses a wake-up call.
A closer look at four conditions that compromise optimal health
Stress : Stress refers to the many systemic changes that occur in our bodies, in response to challenges, whether they are from difficult situations, such as emotional distress, career choices, family discord, financial worries, or the need to adapt to abnormal physical demand, poor nutrition, immune challenges or toxic overload. If these challenges are ongoing, they can limit your ability to respond to them in the future.
Toxic insult : In today's world, the body is under constant assault from pathogenic micro-organisms and toxins in the air and water, and even hormone and pesticide contamination in our food. As our environment becomes more saturated with these toxins, our bodies are forced to work harder to process and eliminate them, in order to maintain our health.
Inflammation : Inflammation is a normal immunological response that allows the body to contain and fight infections or to repair damaged tissues. However, when inflammation becomes chronic, it damages surrounding tissues, and may cause debilitating pain.
Autonomic balance : The autonomic nervous system controls those systems that function without our conscious control. It is divided into two main parts: the sympathetic nervous system, which raises the heart rate and blood pressure, slows digestion and constricts blood vessels, activating the "fight or flight" response; and the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, stimulates digestion and relaxes specific muscles. These two must be in balance for optimal body function.
Where it was developed?
The Technique was developed by Dr David Hill, the chief Medical Advisor at doTERRA, a leading expert in the field of integrative medicine and on the science and use of essential oils. He did so in response to an increasing demand for a simple, yet effective, way to apply essential oils, with meaningful results. What he wanted was something that both beginners and experts alike could use to powerful effect.
From his background in chiropractic medicine and his extensive experience with essential oils, Dr Hill selected eight essential oil singles and blends that have demonstrated profound effects on four systemic constants, conditions that challenge body systems, inhibiting their ability to function at an optimal level.
These factors have a negative impact on our overall health and well-being, disturbing the homeostatic balance our bodies need to function optimally. While the effects of these challenges might not be immediately seen, they still cause the body to function below optimal levels.
